If you like to eat, you will not want to miss our much-acclaimed FARMERS' TABLE GOES GOURMET DINNER. This gala highlights the most exquisite meats, vegetables, fruits, and grains available in our regional markets. Each course is paired with a perfect wine or cocktail selection. Make reservations early, as you will definitely want a seat at the table, late September.
Time to start thinking about the holiday season, and that means WREATHS! Order yours now. These hand-made spruce and pine wreaths are lovingly decorated with an array of dried grasses and flowers, berries, and ribbons. Many sizes available. Orders taken November 1 through the first weekend in December.
Our annual GIVING THANKS FEAST is held the day before Thanksgiving, from 11:30am-1:00pm, and is served by donation. We offer a traditional harvest meal of locally-sourced foods, the opportunity to share in this celebration with friends and neighbors, and lots of pie.
The first Saturday in December is a time for festive good cheer at our annual HOLIDAY FAIR, from 10-2. Local artists and craftspeople share their wares and our children's bazaar offers gift opportunities for the littlest shoppers. Buy a raffle ticket for the festival of trees and win a fully-decorated, fresh tree to take home. Fill a decorative tin with home-baked cookies. Enjoy a homemade lunch to fortify and warm you.
The second Saturday in March, 6-8pm, offers a special evening for your entire family. SOUP, STORY, and SONG has become a beloved late-winter tradition, pulling people out of their homes into the warmth of our schoolhouse, where they sample a variety of soups, stews, chowders, and curries. While you sup, enjoy the talented performances by student, amateur and professional musicians and storytellers alike, including our students. This evening is offered by donation.
CELEBRATE COMMUNITY at our festive annual AUCTION. Hundreds of unique vintage, new, and handmade items available in both our silent and live auctions. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres, a cold libation, and some friendly competition among friends as we bid, bid, bid to support our scholarship fund. Held the late April, 6-9pm.
The third weekend in May brings our annual SPRING FAIR, just in time to supply you with all your organic vegetable and herb seedlings, annuals, trees, shrubs and perennials. Enjoy a casual, delicious lunch. Kids' games. Demonstrations. Saturday, 9am-2pm.
GRADUATION is our culminating celebration of hard work, commitment to community, personal growth, and lots of fun, fond memories. Join us the 2nd Saturday of June, at 10am to send our graduating seniors out into the world, wrapped in love. Reception, with food and time for personal good-byes, to follow.
Our FARMERS' TABLE DINNERS have become a summer destination, for locals and visitors alike! Join us for a full meal, hors d'oeuvres to dessert, with cooling drinks, cheerful conversation, and beautiful views to complete the experience. We hold one dinner in JULY and one in AUGUST, from 6-8pm, served by donation. Pay what you can or what you think the experience is worth. Our meals support not only our own certified organic farm, but more than 75 food producers and farmers in the region. Taste the difference!
ON THE BANKS OF THE BEARCAMP MUSIC and SMOKED MEATS FEST is the highlight of summer at The Community School, held in early August. Bring your lawn chair and your appetite and prepare yourself for an evening of foot-stomping music and lip-smacking barbeque, with both the Ossipee Mountains and the Sandwich Range as backdrop. We'll start the evening with an opener to get you warmed up, but bring your dancing shoes, because you won't be able to sit still. Be in touch for ticket info and times.
